Types of Distance Learning Projects and Experiences
There are several different types of distance learning opportunities....
Virtual Experiences
Museums, science centers, historical sites and other educational places have made themselves available to schools in exciting, virtual, interactive ways through webcasts!
Expert Connections
Talk with scientists, historians, engineers, or other experts or enthusiasts about interesting facts, exciting discoveries, or anything your students are curious about.
Author Visits
Many authors love to talk to young writers about the writing process, but time and distance gets in the way.....so virtual author visits have become the solution.
Multi-Participant Projects
Lots of organizations host projects that you can "chime into." These types of projects are usually moderated by someone else and have a somewhat flexible timeline. They usually consist of many classes and usually include participants emailing data. We can take that a step further and include face-to-face collaboration with some of the participants.
Partner Projects
Have a classroom project or global study that would be great to do with another class? We can connect with another classroom in a live, project-based, flexible, customized environment.
Self-Hosting Projects
Feeling motivated and ambitious? Excited about something you teach? Want to share it and collaborate on it with other classes around the world? We can do that by customizing and hosting your own distance learning project.
